Southwest students celebrated the International Day of Peace on September 21st. Peace Day was established in 1981 by the United Nations. It is celebrated around the world and has a goal for, “all humanity to commit to Peace above all differences and to contribute to building a Culture of Peace.” Students and staff wore tie-dye and engaged in a variety of activities to spread the word about Peace Day. Students made “Pinwheels for Peace” and planted them in the garden out front of the school.
