Ornaments of Kindness

‘Tis the season to be...kind! Southwest students and staff partnered with Erin Stevenson of the Do Good Movement to create ornaments of kindness. The Do Good Movement is an organization focused on children’s education promoting self-awareness, self-regulation, philanthropic stewardship, and social-emotional learning through a yoga foundation. Southwest School has been participating in the Do Good Movement for several years, but the ornament fundraiser was the first Kindness Karma Project. The ornaments were decorated and filled with ways to be kind to others, with things that bring love, happiness and joy to our lives, and with memories of Mrs. Szkapiak. The Do Good Movement Christmas Tree is on display at Brookfield Zoo near the Merry Go Round (Tree #272) in honor of Mrs. Szkapiak and all those fighting pancreatic cancer.
