My name is Bryanne Prudden. I am teaching second grade at Southwest Elementary School. We will be having an awesome year! I am very eager to teach the second grade students as well as learn from each student! I am a graduate from Saint Xavier University. I have a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education and a Professional Educator’s License with middle school endorsements in Mathematics, General Science, Social Science, and Language Arts. I first became interested in teaching when I was in second grade. My teacher assigned the class to write a short story about Halloween. I wrote about a crazy witch flying through a haunted house and she actually laughed at some of the creative parts in my story. In the middle of reading, she had a smile from ear to ear on her face. As I saw her enjoying my story, I was filled with pride and joy. She encouraged me to write more and believed in my ability to write. At that moment, I knew that I wanted to motivate and inspire students the same way that my second grade teacher did for me. In second grade, I encourage students to explore their knowledge through active learning, where the students are asking questions and problem solving. I am very excited to be a part of the Southwest Elementary student's educational journey and look forward to what we will encounter together.
